The Republicans allow room for them to feel they are still part of the Ruling Class. Republicans, unlike Democrats, demonize or disenfranchise a portion of society. Whether it be gays, muslims, atheists, abortion clients, felons, people that do not have voter ID, illegal aliens, the unemployed, Republican continually find new groups to disenfranchise or demonize. Voting Republican caters to bigotry and racism rather than progress and a better future.
Why do people vote Republican when it is against their best interest to do so?
January 22, 2012Easter 2011
April 14, 2011Hopefully Jesus will see his shadow when he hops out of his cave on Easter Sunday, heralding the return of sunny summer weather.
God’s O
March 20, 2011Why is god’s o sometimes puckered, g*d? Is his o viewed as obscene? Sometimes the o is so tightly clenched it doesn’t resemble an o at all, g-d
Google Groups Shakedown
May 30, 2009In the past two weeks Google has mounted what amounts to a shakedown of many Google Groups. Hundreds of Groups owners and moderators have reported in the Google Groups Help Forum, http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Groups-Guide, that access to their group is denied because it is in violation of the Terms Of Service concerning spam and ‘adult content’. Many groups have been deleted after their archives have been inspected and found wanting. It is an especially unique and vexing interruption of a great Google service that has operated hassle-free for more than five years with no interruptions. The amount of data that has been deleted from the Groups archives is staggering. Hundreds of thousands of well argued opinions with links to citations have been deleted. And the Google Guides, the employees that moderate the Forum, have disappeared leaving the Top Contributors to answer the queries. I find it especially suspicious that this shake-down coincides with the announced ‘migration’ of existing Google Pages to the restrictive Google Sites on June 1st. Clearly Google is bent on restricting the content of it’s online publications.
Google Retires Google Page Creator
October 17, 2008After just two years of hosting the popular Google Page Creator Google has announced that all Google Pages will be transfered to Google Sites by the end of the year. Google Page Creator allowed the user to upload 100 Mbs of files and link them to a Google template or to an html document that could be uploaded to the files. The same service was available in Google Apps Web Pages, allowing a registered domain to upload the files and document for the web site. The service was available to new Apps sign ups as recent as August 23, http://hucktunes.info, but was removed by October 5, http://octoberapps.info. There have been many disappointed Pages users posting their sorrow at the loss of this great service in the Google Page help discussion groups in Google Groups but Google’s response is that Pages has reached the end of it’s development and the focus is now on Sites, which is a service that Google purchased from JotSpot. Sites is very restrictive in the content that can appear on the page. It does not allow html code and content is restricted to Gadgets and inserts provided by You Tube, Google Video, etc. There is much buzz in Groups about a big change afoot for Google. I wonder if the big change might be restricting the content of it’s services to make it more appealing to the government of China. In any event Google Page Creator will be greatly missed by many trusting and loyal Googlers.
Getting In Tune
July 24, 2008The simplest way to get in tune is by using a kazoo to sound the correct pitch. Kazoos don’t require batteries and make a very rich sound. It is important to use a steady breath making sure that the pitch you’d like does not waver. One drawback of using a kazoo to tune a fiddle is that water vapor will drip out of the end of the kazoo and it is important to hold the fiddle in a fashion that will divert the water away from the f holes. Bear in mind that it is water and not spit that flows from the kazoo. It is condensation caused by the warm breath meeting the cold metal of the kazoo. So maybe a kazoo is not the best choice for tuning a fiddle but it is ideal for tuning up the old banjo. The rich tones of the kazoo and banjo make a wonderful noise.
Scott McClellan’s Tell All Book, “Scooter”
May 30, 2008Bush’s Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan has published a book that has the inside scoop of the goings on and shenanigans of the Bush administration. This book should settle the question once and for all that so many Americans want to know. Was 9-11 an inside job? I’ve yet to get my hands on the book but one gem is the story of how I. Lewis Libby got the handle “Scooter”. According to McClellan “Scooter” has a habit of scooting around on the carpet in order to scratch his ass.

The Foot
January 6, 2008Those that have spent time listening to a group of folks sitting around playing old time music will often wonder how it is that the musicians make these wonderful tunes end at the same time. To one unfamiliar with the music and really can’t tell the difference between the A part and the B part and the many variations of the rendering of the tune, let alone the occasional addition of a C part, the ending of the tune by all the musicians on the same note after an indeterminable amount of time can seem quite remarkable in itself. But after a couple of tunes have been played the keen observer will notice that the ending of the tune will be preceded by the lifting of the foot.
What may not be apparent to the casual observer is that it is not the lifting of the foot that announces the end of the tune. Rather it is the sound of the fart that follows. This signal blast may be lost to the ears of one unaccustomed to the squalling of the fiddle, sounding much like the squawking of a flock of geese flying overhead, but to the ears of the seasoned old time musician it is the signal to play the final note of a wonderful old time fiddle tune.
So next time you listen to a group of old time musicians and you see one of them raise the foot off the ground lean in a little closer and listen very carefully for a cherished and time honored old time musical tradition.

Happy New Year
January 1, 20082007 was a great year for me and it ended with a bang. I was determined to win the very last cribbage game of the year but as luck would have it not only did I win the game but my opponent was skunked. It was glorious. Happy New Year everybody.

Merry Christmas
December 25, 2007The Winter Solstice fell on Saturday, Saturn’s Day, this year. So the rebirth of the Sun started on his day, Sunday. All and all I’d say it was a successful Saturnalia this year. This bodes well for the Democrats in 2008.
